Julian Casablancas e l’apocalisse

È stato postato su Youtube da pochi giorni il nuovo video di “Human Sadness”, brano che fa parte dell’ultimo album “Tyranny” registrato da Casablancas coi The Voidz.

Il nostro amico Giuliano dice che l’ispirazione per questo video a tema apocalittico l’ha presa dalla vicenda dell’orchestra del Titanic cui gli otto membri, si dice, abbiano continuato a suonare fino all’ultimo respiro.

“It just seemed like a fitting concept” ha dichiarato a Rolling Stone Magazine “The world's gonna end and you decide to play music. That's basically what happened on the Titanic and in a weird, dark, 'sad' way – forgive me – it's kind of like life: dark. But you can look at life as 'managing denial.”

Gestire il rifiuto. Che bello.

Da questo spirito di gioia di vivere è nato il video: un viaggione di tredici minuti composto da un susseguirsi di immagini di disperazione, sopravvivenza ed eroismo che si aprono con la citazione del poeta e mistico persiano Rumi

Nell’intervista con RS dopo un bel discorsetto sulla ricerca per lo stile del video che vorrebbe oscillare tra quello dei programmi televisivi della Turchia degli anni 70’, ma con alcuni richiami alla Germania dei primi anni 80’, conclude rivelandoci che "You can find a lot of stuff on a place called the Internet."
